BIG TRUCK RESCUE
The inception of Big Truck Rescue came from a vision started by Howard "scooby" Eagan back in the early ‘90’s while in NJ. As a state DOH certified extrication instructor, the original concept of the course was basically a familiarization course for rescue personnel which covered the components, construction and types of Medium to Heavy Duty Trucks. At the time Howard was also a manger of a HD towing/recovery company along with being the senior line officer on a rescue squad.Over the years, the course has changed quite a lot since its inception. There are many people from all walks of life and all over the world who have helped with the steady progress of the course, adding ideas, thoughts, and past experiences. As the nineties came to a close, Howard left NJ and moved back home to the Western NY area (now residing in Syracuse NY). After a few years off, Howard met up with Mike Curry. Mikes vision and dedication to the rescue field made a perfect addition to the team. A few years later Jeff Martin came aboard to complete the core lead instructional team. All three individuals are partners in BTR. More importantly, each individual represents a specific field of study. Not one individual can know it all. Courses cover a wide Variety of topics from dispatch protocols to communication, equipment to technique, air bags/cushions to rescue tools, and of course...teamwork. They are presented in a professional manner utilizing a power point presentation. After the classroom presentation, the class moves outside to do practical exercises with both the rescue and recovery personnel working together. Mr.Eagan’s almost 30 years of experience in both the rescue and towing/recovery professions brings a unique on the job/past experience prospective. Mr. Curry’s exceptional experience and life long commitment in extrication/rescue as an officer, industry trainer, and rescue dealer bring the latest in techniques to attendees. Mr Martin aka "the professor" presents to attendees the best the towing/recovery field has to offer. Jeff’s knowledge and insight are second to none. In fact, if there was one guy who could do it all....and be humble about it, it would be Jeff.As we have grown, we have added a few members to the team. Mike, Mark, and Jay shore up the remainder of our crew. We also have a few individuals who help out regularly at different classes from time to time.
